As an Engineering Manager for the City, you will be providing for the management of engineering staff to ensure the well-planned and attractive development of the City, with minimum supervision.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assigns work and oversees reviews and analysis of engineering staff and inspectors regarding development applications for subdivision, right of way, and site development for conformance with City policies and ordinances. Ensures appropriate training is provided.
  • Assists with the implementation of long-range planning documents such as the comprehensive plan for transportation, utilities, and other elements.
  • Implements and facilitates the floodplain related ordinances in the City and performs the duties of the Floodplain Administrator for the City.
  • Work on special projects, as assigned.
  • Resolves conflicts to address development challenges in a proactive manner.

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have previous knowledge of local codes and ordinances, current principles of engineering practices, and procedures, specifically with respect to local governments.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field
  • 5+ years experience in the administration of local codes and ordinances; a Master's degree can substitute for one year of experience.
  • E. - Professional Engineering License
