As a Parks Development Manager for the City, you will be Directing the development and project management for short and long-range planning, design, and construction of City Parks, trails, and recreation facilities.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develops park, trail, and facility master plans; develops CIP program/plan for parks, trails, and recreation facilities.
  • Responsible for project schedules, design objectives, budgets, etc. Oversees the review and approves the design plans, construction documents, and Project and construction management for the Parks & Recreation CIP Projects.
  • Plans and leads public input meetings for all park-related planning or development projects.
  • Performs management and coordination of design/professional consultants including, review of designs, and management of project budgets, schedules, and objectives from project initiation to project completion.
  • Performs ordinance review and enforcement; meets with developers to integrate parks and approve site plans that integrate privately constructed park amenities on City property.

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have previous experience communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as strong time and task management skills.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in park development or in a similar position.
  • Registered Landscape Architect w/ the State of Texas; Valid Class C Driver's License.
