As a Purchasing Coordinator for the City, you will be coordinating the purchasing and contracting activities of the City as well as ensuring compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and laws.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with and assist city personnel on the procurement of cit equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Coordinate the competitive bidding process for all non-construction procurements.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current purchasing and procurement laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Receive and review purchase orders to verify compliance with city and state policy and regulations.
  • Prepare special reports or conduct research as requested by department management.

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have previous knowledge of applicable department procedures, be familiar with data entry and 10-key by touch.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • High School diploma and/or equivalent; 2 years of college-level courses in accounting or bookkeeping

  • 2+ years' experience in purchasing or related function; 3+ years' experience in equivalent position within municipal finance/administration.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management/Administration and/or related field. In lieu of degree, must have five years of municipal purchasing-related experience. Certified Public Procurement Officer preferred.
