The City of Pflugerville, where quality meets life, is growing and improving every day and we are always on the lookout for outstanding individuals to join our team!  Currently, we are in search of a Business Operations Supervisor.  See the essential duties and responsibilities below. We will be selecting an applicant for this position.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the department with the management and administrative oversight of facility rentals and lease agreements for the facilities as well as oversee all city special events.
  • Coordinates facility use. Establishes operating standards and procedures such as hours, security, cash control, safety, fees, etc. for facilities.
  • Ability to prepare and present both oral and written reports such as permit and revenue projections. Assist with preparing division's presentations to the Directors, Parks and Recreation Commission, City Council, and Park constituents.
  • Coordinates projects/activities with other city departments and government agencies. Meets with citizens, community groups, and recreation councils to identify needs.
  • Researches and reviews technical literature, meets with vendors, exchanges information with other government agencies, and attends conferences and workshops to identify new technology, programs, methods, equipment, and plans which might be useful for overall event and permit operations.
  • Submit and prioritize Capital Improvement Projects and Major Maintenance projects with the Assistant Director.
  • Maintains records of revenues and expenditures, personnel, payroll, inventory of supplies and equipment, membership, and program participants as it pertains to athletic field usage. Coordinates field allocation requests.
  • Oversee recreation facility rentals through reservation and permit process.
  • Customer service includes, but not limited to, point of inquiry, quoting rates, permit procedures, vendor communication, communication of group requirements to staff, handling payments and follow-up for events
  • Maintains accurate event calendar for department special events.
  • Maintain departmental understanding of current marketplace for rentals and fees.
  • Ensure that clients provide proof of liability coverage if required, prior to events.
  • Ensure coordination with security, set-ups, break-downs, clean up and parking needed for events.
  • Oversee and ensure Health Department requirements are met, to include annual permit.
  • Ensure that contracts, invoices, and client payments are completed and forwarded to the Finance Department.
  • Generate Facility Rental reports upon request.
  • Serve as Manager-On-Duty at citywide special events, ensure event execution.
  • Participate in planning/strategic meetings.
  • Event development and primary contact for all events after they have been contracted.
  • Create RFP's for event services.

 

Education/Experience/Certification Qualifications

  • Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree in recreation, physical education, and/or related field
  • Relatable Work Experience: 3+ year's progressively responsible experience in recreation; 2 + year's supervisory experience.
  • Training (Licenses(s) and/or Certification(s): First Aid Certification; CPR Certification
